Monthly Report March 2023
Dear friends
Welcome to the monthly update for March! Thrilled to announce the completion of the first semester with our scholars, and it feels like a graduation for us as well. Despite all the challenges and obstacles, our scholars have passed with flying colors, achieving an average CGPA of 7.
Post-examination, our scholars had a chance to unwind and participate in various sports, club and other extra-curricular activities which are equally important for holistic growth. However, they also expressed their difficulty in choosing suitable activities to get engaged in amongst the vast range of options available. To address this concern, scholars were introduced with the theme of “Finding purpose out of possibilities” during our Group Developmental Session so that they can make purposeful choices.
Our scholars were also encouraged to reflect on their performance over the past six months empowered with the skills of being curious, fearless, and being comfortable within ambiguity to make most out of the available possibilities.
We believe that this partly relaxed time was an excellent opportunity to instill valuable life skills in our scholars. We hope that they will continue to utilize these skills to choose activities that align with their interests and values, providing them with meaningful and purposeful experiences in the future.

02. Monthly Group Developmental Session
In March, we took a more relaxed approach and focused on life skills that would benefit our scholars not just during their college years, but throughout their lives.
Our scholars expressed a desire to engage with purpose, so our group developmental session, “Finding Purpose out of Possibilities,” addressed this topic. The session began with a reflection activity on academic, social, and emotional aspects, followed by a guest speaker session. It concluded with discussions on the paradox of self-awareness, taking charge of personal development, and providing CPR (Curious, Positive, Reflective) to life.
The session received an impressive rating of 4.5 out of 5 from our scholars.

03. Focus session
Tathagata Mitra, Chief Product Officer of Savii and IIT Bombay alumni was invited to speak on how to “Find purpose out of possibilities”. Tathagata shared his philosophy of keeping an open mind while approaching anything new and how to create a support system to navigate life with ease.
He also shared the importance of staying curious to increase learnability and ways to satiate this curiosity by sharing personal anecdotes. His message for the scholars was to pause and appreciate the “drive” in them that has brought them so far and that every stage of life will have new challenges and this “drive” would help them overcome the same.
The session was well received by the scholars with a satisfaction score of 3/3

Leonardo da Vinci said “Learning never exhausts the mind.”
“This month reinforces the importance of continuous learning as there is always one more thing to learn! Each scholar had some key learnings and reflections from Semester 1 which they are using as a guide to plan Semester 2.
We gave the platform for scholars to self-evaluate themselves in the areas of Academic performance, Stress Management and Social connection. It was not a surprise to see most of the scholars rating highly on the social connect while the range was medium to high on the stress management front. The lowest was in their academic performance as almost all of them realized they need to work more on their CGPAs.
To make Scholars continuously focus on development, we gave a simple formula to remember i.e. CPR (Curious, Positive, Reflective). The key message was being Curious, staying positive and constantly reflecting will help them learn and grow through semester 2.

“The 1st semester exam is over, and we move into the new semester with what we learned and experienced last semester.
The last month began with holiday and family time for some, for others it was the same academic pursuit with the new “Josh”. The outcome of the first semester is always special for any engineering student. And it also brings hope and new learning for our scholars.”
