Monthly Report April 2023
Dear friends
Welcome to the April monthly update! We’re thrilled to share that our scholars have begun their second semester, which includes a blend of theory and practical lab classes. As they progress, many are taking time to reflect on their experiences from last semester, identifying both the best practices they want to continue and areas where they hope to improve.
In addition to their academic pursuits, our scholars have been actively participating in a variety of extracurricular activities, including NSO, NSS, sports, innovation hub activities, and more. They’ve also been expanding their horizons by enrolling in new courses, learning new skills, and engaging in payback activities.
Throughout the month, focus has been on fostering the scholars’ natural curiosity to cultivate a deep-seated desire for constant learning and knowledge. This includes setting SMART goals, understand the importance of staying relevant by keeping up with global developments like AI, data science, and emerging job prospects.

Highlights
01. Monthly Group Developmental Session
We witnessed that scholars need more nurturing around choosing activities and setting goals aligning to their personality and aspirations for the future.
Hence, focusing on how to set SMART goals right at the beginning of Semester 2 and develop a success profile of an IIT/NIT graduate that outlines the required knowledge, experience, skills and attitude. By doing so, scholars will have a clearer understanding of what they need to focus on to achieve their goals.
Session also focused on relevant global developments like AI, Chat GPT and the role it plays in future jobs. Providing relevant information and insights on these topics could help inspire them to explore related fields and pursue opportunities in these areas.
The session received a rating of 5 out of 5 from our scholars.

“The theme of this month was ‘Get set and GOAL’.
Awardees identified the success profile of their role as students and determined the knowledge, exposure, skills, and attitudes they would need to secure a better position after completing their campus time. They are now building their short-term and long-term goals using the SMART technique.
Scholars are working hard to balance their focus between meeting their academic targets and taking time to work on extracurricular activities.
We reinforced the importance of being curious, taking time to reflect, and staying positive throughout the month.

Last month, most of the scholars had their mid-semester exams, which are a crucial part of our education system. The scholars have embarked on their academic journey and have become familiar with their college environment, making new friends as they entered their second semester.
They have gained a clear understanding of how they will utilize this semester; some are focusing on machine learning and learning Python, while others are concentrating on sports and their core departments. One of our scholar found an interest in photography and joined the photography club. It is fascinating to observe how the engineering curriculum brings out newer and better versions of ourselves. We are committed to making this program value-based and focused on the holistic development of our scholars. Although our monthly group calls may seem hectic, they provide invaluable knowledge and a fresh perspective on the world around us. I, too, have benefited from these calls and have learned a great deal.
As this is my last month with the scholars and this program, I am feeling emotional as I have been aligned with their goals and objectives. I am grateful for the love they have given me and am very connected with all the scholars we have. I wish them all the best for their future, and I will always stay connected with them.
