Monthly Report May 2023

Monthly Report May 2023

Dear friends

Welcome to the May monthly update!

The month of May was an exciting and productive time for scholars. They faced their mid-semester exams, and many of them are now preparing for the end-of-semester exams in June. Proud to see our scholars actively reflecting on their academic progress and becoming more aware of their strengths and weaknesses. It’s encouraging to witness their growth in seeking help proactively, which is a valuable life skill.

In addition to their regular academic pursuits, noticed our scholars exploring their interests beyond the curriculum. They have delved into subjects like Data Science, Computer languages, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and more. It’s delightful to witness their curiosity-driven research and the enthusiasm with which they pursue knowledge.

Furthermore, observed our scholars dedicating time to nurture their hobbies and extracurricular activities. From photography, drama, painting, and hockey to entrepreneurship management, they have been actively pursuing their passions. Some of our scholars have even made significant strides in the field of innovation.

Thrilled to see our scholars embracing such a holistic approach to learning. It is our utmost desire for them to find joy and satisfaction in every aspect of their educational journey. Therefore, this month, focus has been on equipping scholars with effective stress management techniques, especially when faced with high-pressure situations and multiple responsibilities.

It is believed that a well-balanced and content mindset is crucial for overall success and well-being. The resources and support empower scholars to navigate stress with resilience and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Highlights

01. Monthly Group Developmental Session

“Tension is a habit. Relaxing is a habit. Bad habits can be broken, good habits formed.” – William James

Our month was dedicated to cultivating good habits for managing stress and pressure. Scholars, who are currently engaged in intense physical and emotional work, were provided with essential tools to self-regulate and effectively handle any form of pressure. They learned Level 1 and Level 2 awareness practices, empowering them to manage stress more efficiently.

Level 1 practice involved connecting with our physical sensations, while Level 2 focused on effectively managing our positive and negative self-talk. These practices aim to foster resilience and well-being among our students

The session received a rating of 5 out of 5 from our scholars.

02. Scholar achievement / progress

“There was a House Day program for the outgoing 4th year seniors and there was an award ceremony for the hostel residents who have contributed something for the house.

Counsellor’s Note

Rahul Shah

In this month’s discussion and observation- a notable positive impact is observed in scholar’s social interactions. This progress is rated as medium.

However, academic pressure remains a prominent factor, with students responding differently to the challenges. Hence, the rating for academic pressure is also medium.

On the other hand, scholars demonstrate a high level of learning orientation and optimism, contributing positively to their emotional well-being. Therefore, the emotional score is also rated as medium.

Overall, scholars show progress in social interactions and exhibit positive traits, but continued attention is required to address academic pressures and emotional well-being effectively.

Coordinator’s Note

Ragini

Last month, most of the scholars had their regular classes along with their monthly quizzes and cycle test.

Scholars got engaged in extracurricular activities and explored various places at their college locations like Mahabalipuram, Brihadeeshwar temple, and the beach, which provided them valuable learning experiences and will contribute to their overall development.

Overall, Scholars engaging in extracurricular activities, exploring places around the college and participating in their regular classes and assessments will provide scholars with a well-rounded education, helping them to develop various skills, broaden their knowledge, and gain practical experiences outside the traditional classroom setting.

We asked scholars to share about their most faviourite hobbies and activities.

Here are some glimpses of what they shared:

Nowadays, I am exploring spaces outside the campus a lot, so I am capturing some moments in camera
