Monthly Report February 2023

Monthly Report February 2023

Dear friends

February was yet another important month for the scholars when they appeared for their first semester exam at their dream institution. Due to Covid-19, this semester started late and was quite rushed and exams knocked at the door in no time amidst all the acclimatization that scholars were still going through. Wellness calls with scholars clearly marked that they needed quick exam tips to succeed in exam while maintaining calm and sanity.

To optimize time and make utmost use of it, we tweaked our group session to focus on exam tips and personal engagements for “Strategic Time” amidst exams.

The focus was to make scholars comfortable and at ease before appearing for the exam and maintain high levels of confidence which we were trying to work on from past few months as well.

We witnessed the month of February to be extremely busy and stressful for scholars as they were appearing for their first semester exams. To optimize time, we tweaked our group session and sent them a short video with our counselor sharing exam tips which revolved around smart techniques and approaches, balancing health during exam and ways to minimize distraction.

Counsellor’s Note

Rahul Shah

‘Don’t stress, do your best and forget the rest.’

We understand that we are still new to this, but we are committed to evolving and learning alongside the scholars”

Feb Month was the focus month for exams. We shared critical tips on exams that helped them to get the best of themselves.

Wrap up exercise to manage their onset sleep, Pomodoro technique to manage distraction and increase focus and strategies to help in channelizing their mind chatter so that they can conserve their energy.

It was great to see scholars getting settled in dealing with their exam pressures and managing their academic calendars. It was motivating to learn that scholars going beyond academics and scaling heights in sport field too!

  • Academic – Medium (Scholars are getting comfortable with academics however they need to push their scores from average to high and have some work on that front)
  • Social – High (Sports activities are helping them connect with seniors)
  • Emotional – Medium (Scholars still needs to work on Emotional Resilience)

Coordinator’s Note

Devesh Kumar

“It has been a very hectic month, with all the scholars being occupied with their exams. We understand the stress that they were going through and as a result, we decided to minimize our engagement while focusing on evolving as their support system. We planned to connect with them through check-in calls after their exams and in the meantime, we communicated with them via chat, providing motivating pointers to boost their morale. Our primary focus is on the holistic development of scholars, and as a result, we have been providing counselling and emphasizing the importance of experience and learning.

We understand that we are still new to this, but we are committed to evolving and learning alongside the scholars”
